I CAME ACROSS THIS COVER DURING ONE OF MY MANY JAUNTS THROUGH CYBERSPACE. IT CAPTURED ME, NOT BECAUSE OF ITS VISUAL ASPECTS OR ANY CREATIVE REASON BUT BECAUSE OF A FEW WORDS, "THE POWER OF REFUSAL". AS I READ THIS TITLE MY MIND WENT TO A MUCH DEEPER PLACE. A CONCEPT WAS AWAKENED THAT IS FAR BEYOND THE TRIVIAL AESTHETICS OF STYLE AND DESIGN BUT NOT EXCLUSIVE OF THEM. A BROADER IDEA THAT INCLUDES EVERYTHING WE ALLOW. "THE POWER OF REFUSAL", REFUSAL OF WHAT? TO REFUSE EXCESS, UNNECESSARY, SELFISHNESS, USELESS, OVERINDULGENCE, IN ONE WORD CONTENTMENT. ARE YOU CONTENT? CAN YOU FIND CONTENTMENT AND REFUSE MORE. IN THE CREATIVE WORLD THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT TALENTS. I AM CHALLENGED TO SET ASIDE PRESSURES FROM WITHIN AND AROUND ME. TODAY I CHOOSE TO REFUSE MORE AND STRENGTHEN WHAT I HAVE. TO STOP TAKING AND ADDING BUT INSTEAD GIVE.
